Go Spanish with a taste of Tapas and Sangria at the month-long Oktober Fest at Zara
A tall glass of chilled Strawberry and Sangria with a dash of raspberry vodka and lemonade accompanied by bite-sized tapas in Spanish style might be a fab idea to take a quick lunch break from your nine-hour day at work.
At the Sangria and Tapas Oktober Fest, in a silver and black corporate ambience, Zara has on offer a myriad of both Tapas and Sangria. The restaurant introduces six new Sangrias for the fest. Though all are wine based, each tastes different. While Just Peachy Sangria with fresh peach and mango pulps has a fruity after-taste, many still prefer the popular Columbian Sangria, which is a delight for vodka and rum lovers. Served in a hurricane glass (Rs 350), the Sangrias are perfect for those, who love their drinks with a sweetish tinge. For those who can't get enough of the brew, order for the Sangria pitchers (Rs 995).
Tapas fiestaStarting at Rs 125, there is a wide range of both the vegetarian and non-vegetarian ones. Tapas, as appetizers in true Spanish style or if you must, gorge on a few variants as a complete lunch. Whether it is the crispy Patatas bravas, a fancy name for golden fried potato cubes or the chicken cubes tossed in garlic and white wine, the choices are sundry. If you are a fish lover, then Grilled cajun spice rubbed fish is what you must pick.
Finely cut into elongated pieces, with herbs and spices sprinkled on top with a tangy sauce, this fish tapas will melt in your mouth. Some of the tapas have been introduced especially for the festival apart from the ones on the regular tapas menu.
DownsideHowever, the semi-soft cheese fritters or the Queso frito con salsa picante is quite a disappointment as the cheese is a bit on the chewy side. Again, if you don't have taste for smoked meat, then Smoked chicken and buffalo mozzarella is just not for you. Chicken pieces fresh from oven along with tomatoes and pieces of mozzarella are a tad bland and the smoky smell wafts into the nose giving a slight suffocating feel.
Price pointThe tapas are priced at Rs 125 onwards and the Sangrias at Rs 350. A plate of Tapas is good enough to be shared by two, as the portions are filling, and if you've hopped in for the fest, then three to four plates of Tapas would more than suffice for a quick lunch. Zara also offers both veg and non-veg combos with a soup, salad, tapas, main course and dessert at Rs 275 and Rs 295 respectively.
