The students of DSK Supainfocom had a rare chance to meet one of the stalwarts of animation industry on Monday.
An actor, author and a significant speaker with a formidable reputation of more than 25 years Max Howard, president of the Exodus Film Group, told the students about the diversity in animation industry in India and in the world.
Formerly, a president of Warner Bros Feature Animation and senior vice president of Disney Feature Animation, he has served the Disney group for 12 years as one of the senior architects of the company.
He has been part of epic movies such as Who Framed Roger Rabbit, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Pocahontas and The Lion King.
Happy with the pool of talent in India, he said, "I am basically concentrating on studios in countries like India and China because of the emerging talent pool in the animation sector here."
Called the guru of animation, Howard believes in exploring each and every subject and the search for immensely creative talent brought him to India.
Currently working on movies like Bunyan & Babe the most attractive part of film-making for him is the story line. "One of the basic requirements and inspiration for me in a movie is the subject and the script. I believe that is what the art in the movie is," said the movie aficionado.
He further said that the world was becoming smaller as the communication gap is becoming narrower because of the growing technology. "Being tech savvy, I ensure there is a merging of tech and movies which we know as animation, be it digital imaging, 3D films or feature films, I like experimenting with all the genres."
