Amid much frenetic activity, the ubiquitous confusion and occasional hullabaloo over bonafide certificates, students finally managed to submit their admission forms despite the initial hiccups. On the last day for submission of admission forms for FYJC, there was a huge queue outside Fergusson College from 11 am.u00a0u00a0
The submission of forms was progressive smoothly, save for the Allowed to Keep Term (ATKT) students of Std. X who had to rush to their schools at the last moment to procure bona fide certificates, as they were not issued school leaving certificates.

for FYJC as it was the last day for submission. Pics/Krunal Gosaviu00a0Vishwas K (16), who wants to join the arts stream, said that he finally managed to get into the office after four and a half hours of wait. "Several people were trying to bypass the line and the staff did not notice it at first. There was also a lot of confusion over the lines meant for regular students and ATKT students. Several ATKT students first stood in the regular students' line for the first few hours. I just hope the cut-off is less, so that I get through," said Vishwas.
Dede Pundalik (20), an ATKT student, said that he did not know about that a bona fide certificate was required. "Luckily, I found out through a few people and immediately got it from my school while on my way here," he said. Pundalik wants to pursue science. Dnyaneshwar Kale, a parent, said they had to rush to school in the morning for the bona fide certificates before coming to the college. "We were unaware about the need for bona fide certificate. Schools should issue some certificate for the ATKT students. Why wait for students to come to them in the last moment?" he said.
His son Rounak Kale said: "If our principal had not given the certificate quickly, I would have definitely missed the date," he said. Bhimashankar Laad (16) said that Fergusson College had not put up notices of any kind about the bona fide certificate. "I found out while talking to other students," said Laad. Both Kale and Laad have chosen the arts stream. Students present at Fergusson College said the crowd was unbearable and many minor arguments had taken place between parents and the college staff over the queue.
