Ayazuddin and his cousin were riding on Suzuki GSX R 1000 on Hyderabad's Outer Ring Road when the accident took place. As Delhi boost of maximum number of super bikes in India, the veteran super bikers have come forward to organise a safety workshop for young riders.
"Time and again, we see such accidents. We can take some steps to avoid situations like these. All the senior super bike owners have decided to hold a safety workshop this Sunday for superbikers in Delhi, telling them about the strength of their machine and how to drive them with care. We will try to make this a regular affair so that there is a sense of responsibility among the owners," said Ikjot Singh Bhasin, superbike consultant and head of Born to Ride biking group.
Safety first
The Delhi owners of Harley Davidson bikes had conducted India's first Harley HOG ride recently, which included 60 bikers, who drove from Delhi to Chandigarh and back. "I was a part of the HOG ride and the challenge was to make all 60 bikers drive safely and take all proper precautions. We make sure all bikers are riding with safety gear and have control on their machine," said Bhasin.
Parents responsible
Senior bikers feel that not only the owners of the bike, but their dealers and parents are also responsible. "Each and every superbike dealer should make the owner aware of the strength of the bike and should conduct training sessions. Parents, who gift superbikes to their kids, should buy helmet and safety gear," said Karan Malhotra, owner of a Harley Davidson.
