Four more deaths, including that of a 2-year-old, due to the deadly H1N1 virus pushed the city's death toll to 308 yesterday.


Four more deaths, including that of a 2-year-old, due to the deadly H1N1 virus pushed the city's death toll to 308 yesterday. 97 deaths have taken place since April 1 said Dr Uddhav Gavande, deputy director, State Health Services.

Hiya Sushil Agarwal (2) from Sant Dnyaneshwar Nagar in Pimpri, Sushmita Deepak Hankare (19) from Miraj in Sangli District, Surekha Anilkumar Lodha (42) from Ambegaon in Pune district and Ganesh Krishna Pille (37) from Juna Bazar in Khadki died yesterday after having been in different hospitals in the city since July-end.

The dead had been admitted tou00a0 D Y Patil, Khadki Cantonment, KEM and Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial hospitals respectively.

Dr Gavande said all four were suffering from fever, cough and breathlessness and were being administered Tami Flu tablets after being admitted.

They were put on ventilator when their condition became serious and were shifted to isolation wards a week ago, he added.
