A CITY based teacher Vandana Phatak and Gopalrao Devkar from Jalgaon have produced a TV serial 'Adbhut Betachchi Safar' (A Tur of an Exciting Island) on E-TV. The idea is to promote and generate interest in Science Mathematics and new subjects like nanotechnology, genetics and robotics.
Phatak, who runs VSP Academy with her husband Sandeep, had visited the Science Centre and Zoo in Singapore with their first batch of 72 students in 2008. It was a thrilling introduction into the world of science and technology for these students.
"The idea of making a TV serial on this travel show came into reality when we shortlisted five students Kshitij, Samiran, Saili, Pritesh and Ritesh as our kid heroes," Pathak said. "The idea is to make the serial educating, enriching and, at the same time, entertaining," she added.
Sanjay Dabke, director of the serial from Bars and Tones Television Company in Pune took the lead and Vijayendra Patil did the camera work.
Noted actor Tushar Dalvi has anchored the show with these five kid heroes. "It was a memorable experience for me while working with the kids and answering their numerous queries on many topics in science and technology," Dalvi said.u00a0u00a0
