Teen mom attempts suicide, after fight with husband

A young mother attempted to end her life, at 9 pm, yesterday. Hebbal resident, Nasreen M (19) was rushed to Bowring Hospital by her father after she consumed anti-inflammatory cream.

A young mother attempted to end her life, at 9 pm, yesterday. Hebbal resident, Nasreen M (19) was rushed to Bowring Hospital by her father after she consumed anti-inflammatory cream.

Nasreen spoke to MiD DAY from the hospital and said that she had left her husband Munsheer Amir in Parweda village and come with her son to her father's house in Hebbal.

Nasreen is recovering at Bowring hospital.

"I fought with my husband after he told me that he wanted to have a second wife. I told him that I wasn't ready and requested him to shift to Bangalore, but he refused."

However, Nasreen's father Khalil Saab, a construction worker was unaware that his daughter attempted suicide because of her shaky relationship with her husband.

Bharati R, a staff nurse at Bowring Hospital, reported that no serious harm was caused to Nasreen. "She will be discharged in two days time. She is feeling better now," she added.
