The bodies of three Dalit men in their 20s were found in a pond in an Uttar Pradesh town, police said Wednesday, adding that there were signs of injuries with a sharp edged weapon as well as strangulation.
There was panic in Sikandra of Bulandshahr district, about 400 km from here, after Nityanand, Santkabir and Hansraju00a0-- between the ages of 21 and 26 years - were found dead on the outskirts of the town.
"The three youths are from different families. Though they had multiple injuries inflicted by a sharp edged weapons on their faces and chest, it appeared all of them died of strangulation," police inspector O.P. Chaudhary told reporters in Bulandshahr.
"We are yet to ascertain the motive behind the killings," he added.
