Less than a month since the case of a 12-year-old girl being raped by a group of people in Sakinaka came to light, another case of a minor being raped has been reported from the same area. In this case, a 3-year-old girl was raped by two of her neighbours -- one in his 20s and the other in his 30s -- the girl's cousin has alleged.

"On Wednesday evening, the girl was playing in the area when these two took her to play inside their home. A passerby heard the girl screaming and saw the duo forcing themselves on her. The person shouted and we barged into their house," said the cousin, Pravin Kumar (name changed). "She was bleeding when we rushed her to Rajawadi Hospital in Ghatkopar. Doctors have said that her chances of survival are very slim," he rued.

The accused -- identified as Ramkesh Kevat and Rajesh Kumar -- have been arrested by the Sakinaka police.

"Investigations are on," said a police officer from the Sakinaka police station.
