Here's the dope on the cool international artistes that the guys at IIT Bombay have roped in for their December fest
1. Win a guitar signed by Katatonia
Rs 70,000. That's what the guitar costs. Priceless. That's what it's worth if you are a fan of the Swedish dark rock band. How do you lay your hands on this autographed beauty? Mood I has organised an online Treasure Hunt called Moshpit, which lets you win CDs, signed merchandise, passes for the concert, and the guitar, of course. Log on to www.moodi.org.
2. Take lessons from a Croatian one-man band
Run an online search for 'Cigo Man Band' and you'll stumble on a video of a lean, quirky chap in pinstripes, a flat cap and large glasses playing the percussions, and strings all by himself while walking around. A drum, cymbal, tambourine, guitar, harmonica, kazoo, various horns, whistles, bells and squeakers ufffd the humble street performer even sings. If the drummer of your amateur band just dropped out and you don't know how you'll cope, Cigo will give you a lesson in self-preservation.
3. Bump into a couple that carries 37 wine glasses
No, the Szafraniecs are not that fond of wine. The Polish couple, known to the world as Glass Duo, make music using their glass harp that comprises 37 glasses of different sizes, and by running wet fingers around their rims. Let their sublime music soothe you amid all the frenzy.
4. Meet a mentalist
This is not a cheap magic show. Israeli mentalist Nimrod Harel will trash your perceptions of what's possible and not. The 'perception artist' uses techniques that run the entire gamut from psychology to illusion.
