Harish, a final year MBA student of IIPM College, was killed on the spot after he was knocked down by a speeding lorry on Old Airport Road.
According to his friend Ashwin, Harish was attending a college farewell party at a star hotel on Old Airport Road. When his friends found him missing from the party hall, they called him up. Harish received the call and said that he was in his car at the parking lot.
Sensing something fishy about Harish's response, Ashwin and his friend Ravi went down to the parking lot.
Harish was not in the car. But the car was unlocked and his mobile phone was lying on the seat.
When they questioned the security guard about Harish, they got to know that he had jumped off the compound wall of the hotel in a hurried manner. They went out and found him lying dead.
Eyewitnesses said, after jumping the wall, a truck hit him while trying to cross the road.
'Harish's mother and sister were at the spot. A friend said he had called his called his mother and sister earlier to say he was in trouble and asked them to come to the party venue immediately.
The truck driver, who was arrested by the police, said Harish suddenly came in front of the vehicle.
His body was taken to the Bowring Hospital for a post mortem.
