West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee faced the ire of social media after she announced a meagre Rs 2 lakh as compensation for kin of jawans killed in the Uri attack.

Banerjee said that Sepoy Gangadhar Dolui and Sepoy Biswajit Gorai would get the amount, and jobs of homeguard will be given to one member each of the two families. Clearly, Twitterati weren't pleased, and expressed their dissatisfaction in no uncertain terms. As a result, #MartyrsNotBeggars started trending.
