Two children died in an interior Rangalpani village in Hemgiri block of Sundargarh district due to food poisoning.
Official sources in the district health department attributed the death due to food poisoning after consuming wild mushroom and leaves.
One Kunti Kumar (17) died on the way to district headquarters hospital while he was being shifted from Hemgiri PHC.
An 11-year-old boy Basudev Konar died in Hemgiri PHC. Both died yesterday in the gap of 24 hours, the sources said. At least 12 persons of the village had taken ill since last four days with dysentery, vomiting and fever.

They were rushed to nearby Bilimunda PHC and later some of them were shifted to upgraded PHC Hemgiri.
A medical team from Sundargarh rushed to the village yesterday and door to door medical examination were carried out to contain the disease.
