They jumped off the top floor of a building after it caught fire, 7 hurt
Two people died after jumping off from the fifth floor of a commercial building to save their lives, after a fire broke out in the second floor of the building in Karol Bagh area of west Delhi on Thursday night. Seven others were injured in the unfortunate incident.

A Fire official said the fire broke out around midnight. "The fire broke out in the second floor of a commercial building, in which more than two dozen small shops were being run for years. Around 12 labourers, who work at a jewellery showroom, were sleeping on this floor when the incident took place," said a senior police officer.
"To escape from the fire, everybody rushed to the top floor of the building. Three of them, identified as Robin (25), Debu Das (26) and Sanjeev, jumped off.u00a0"Three fire tenders were rushed to the spot. The flames could be doused only by 3:55 am. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained," said the officer.
Head injuriesThey were rushed to the Ram Manohar Lohia hospital, where doctors declared them dead on arrival. "Robin and Debu died due to head injuries while Sanjeev is still critical.
Six others who also tried to jump off from the building received fractures but are said to be stable in Lady Hardinge hospital, where they were rushed to after the incident," the officer said.
