Two people have been arrested here for beating and torturing a 14-year-old housemaid, who is admitted to hospital with spine and multiple injuries, police said Monday
The maid's employer Abhinav Arya and her uncle Suresh Behera Kumar, who got her the job, were arrested Saturday, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ashok Chand said.
According to police, the girl was beaten up and was locked up in the toilet of Arya's home in west Delhi's Paschim Vihar Oct 22 after she could not lift a heavy trunk.
"The trunk was too heavy and fell on the victim, injuring her back. When she started crying, the employer's wife slapped her several times and locked her in the toilet. Later, they dumped her at the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital," a senior police officer said.
