NSUI leaders say they had cancelled all their morning campaigning sessions and rushed to the blast site.
Since it was just the day before the polls, set to take place on September 9, the party leaders say they did not have a choice but to release the manifesto, else it would have been of no significance.
"We kept the release low profile and had also cancelled all campaigning activities scheduled both for south and north campus. Besides, the Bollywood celeb joined in later when the manifesto had already been released," said Bharat Kumar, secretary, NSUI.
