New Delhi: The Congress Party on Monday accused the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) of dividing the country in the name of religion, saying that the latter's comment that Muslims are making it a 'campaign' to increase their numbers, is completely "undemocratic."
'Vishwa Hindu Parishad has a habit of giving statements that creates division in the name of religion in the country and they want to gain benefit from it,' Congress leader P.L. Punia told ANI.
'I want to ask VHP to tell what were the efforts in which the Muslims have not contributed to control the country's population?' he asked.
The decision of having a child is completely personal. Thus, the comment made by VHP is completely undemocratic,' he asserted.
The VHP on Sunday alleged that instead of cooperating with efforts of other communities to control the country's population, Muslims are making it a 'campaign' to increase their numbers.
