BJP LEADER to get extra security to protect him AGAINST 'Chhota Shakeel'

Earlier his mother Maneka Gandhi had approached the Prime Minister's Office alleging Varun had been threatened by underworld gangster Chhota Shakeel.
According to sources in the Delhi police, the Home Ministry has directed cops to give Varun extra security. "In a day or two, once the paper work is completed, Varun Gandhi will be provided with Z or Z-plus security. Which means he will have about 30 armed commandoes guarding him. His house too will be under guard all night," said a police official, wishing anonymity.
Criminals arrested recently by Mumbai, Delhi and other state police departments have hinted that underworld Don Chhota Shakeel wants to eliminate Gandhi. On Saturday, the Special Cell of the Delhi Police claimed to have arrested seven henchmen of Shakeel, who, allegedly confessed they had been sent to eliminate a few VIPs.
Though a senior police official from the Special Cell said the seven arrested men had not specified if Varun Gandhi was on their hitlist. "It is too early to say anything. We arrested them on Friday and took them to court. We haven't yet got sufficient time to interrogate them at length," said a senior official from the Special Cell, wishing anonymity.
Earlier, Varun and his mother had said the seven had been sent to target the young leader. "The plot against my life by underworld criminals apprehended by the Delhi Police exemplifies exactly the kind of terror and violence against which I stand. This is the second time in the recent months that such a conspiracy has been uncovered," Varun had said.
Varun, who won the Lok Sabha election from Pilibhit in Uttar Pradesh, created a controversy with his reported hate speeches against Muslims and was even arrested for it.

Z+ category36 police personnel are on guard. Z+ protection includes several security rings manned by armed commandos carrying sophisticated guns. Mostly, the guns used in the inner ring are small arms that can be loaded fast. National Security Guard (NSG) commandos mostly use Israeli-made guns. Some of the commonly used firearms are AK 47, Uzi, MP5, Heckler and Koch pistols. While Uzi and MP5 belong to the sub-machinegun category used for close-door combat, Heckler is the standard pistol carried by NSG commandos. These commandos are also equipped with sophisticated communication equipment. Jammers can also be used.
