Organisers are gearing up for the annual youth theatre festival. There's just a small hitch -- they are broke. Here's how you can help
The roll call of theatrewalas who've had their first taste of professional theatre through Thespo includes actors/directors like Anand Tiwari, Namit Das, Chandan Roy Sanyal, Karan Makhija, Amrita Puri, Kshitee Jog, Akarsh Khurana, Arghya Lahiri, Nadir Khan, Preetika Chawla, Ali Fazal and many, many more starry-eyed youngsters. For 12 years, QTP and Theatre Group have organised Thespo to encourage young talent. But for the past couple of years, getting sponsorship from the recession-hit industry has been difficult.

Unfortunately, this year the organisers have had to declare brokedom. As a bold step to save the festival they have decided to initiate a programme called Friends of Thespo. As a Friend of Thespo you could contribute a minimum amount of Rs 2,000 so as to raise the all-important basic fund that will ensure that the festival takes place this year.
In return, you will receive a free
T-Shirt, two free tickets to any performance during Thespo 12, priority booking with regards to tickets for shows and a free Thespo 12 Magazine.
Most of all, as a Friend of Thespo you will get a chance to ensure that the four plays, short-listed for performance this year, make it on stage. Rest assured, there's a lot of good karma to be earned.
Email thespo12@gmail.com for further details. Thespo 12 will take place from the December 14 to 17 at Prithvi Theatre, Juhu, and from December 18 to 19 at NCPA, Nariman Point.
