Always wanted to be a hairstylist? WHAT's ON tells you about the newest club in the city which will help you create your own style Sheela conducting a session at the Hair Club
There are clubs and then, there are clubs! The Hair Club on FC Road aims to train future hairdressers and hair stylists. The brainchild of Sheela Madhumal, who is the Proprietor of Sheela's Beauty Clinique and Spa, the club will help stylists and hairdressers create their own style, rather than just imitate existing ones. The only criteria to become a member is to be well-versed with the basics of hair dressing.
USP: The club will not only focus on the latest trends, but also impart knowledge about products and the technicalities of the job. There will be sessions on personality development and grooming and a lot of emphasis will be laid on personal hygiene. The Club will give members an opportunity to upgrade their skills as well as impart tips on business management, product knowledge and styling.
Workshops, seminars and training programmes will also be conducted. These programmes are aimed at honing the members' skills and increasing their confidence levels. On the anvil are monthly meetings to review the participants' performance.
Ideas will be shared and discussions held on new hair fashions. At the end of the year, there will be a contest, where the members can show off their skills.u00a0u00a0
They will also hold seminars every three months which can even be attended by non-members and it will boast of interactive programmes interspersed with audio-visual presentations, discussions and hair trivia.
