Damn tantrum-throwing multiplexes; how about catching a flick at a warehouse, terrace or 'underground'?
Filmy funda: Studio Artois held its first screening at Hotel Shangri-La recently
Open house: Studio Artois is a conduit through which movie lovers get a chance to enjoy in an alfresco setting. This international concept organises three types of screenings rooftop, moonlit and underground. Wondering what sort of rooftops? Those of landmark buildings. In moonlit cinema, the audience gets to sit on bean bags and low-lying seats in a lawn or garden and watch the movie. In this case, the screening is followed by a live performance of a band, too. Underground screenings, on the other hand, take place at warehouses and garages. No to mention, your favourite beer accompanies you, albeit on a charge.
Aap ki pasand: The club brings discerning movie lovers to select titles at regular intervals. International movies from different genres are the top choice. "We want to run movies that people wouldn't mind watching repeatedly. There are also award-winning movies and other classics from world cinema," says Shimoni Shroff, marketing manager of the organising firm, Stella Artois. The initiative is also aimed at roping in filmmakers to conduct interactive discussions.
