Spruce it up
Saranya Gogineni and Geeta Suresh are showcasing home furnishings. Geeta Suresh says, "We mainly deal in traditional designs and fabrics. We sit with the kaarigars when they at work and we explain what we want. We have used over 20 coloured blocks, in different permutations and combinations, on cotton and silk. Earlier the kaarigars wondered what we were up to. But when they saw the finished products, they were convinced. We focus a lot on the quality of dyes. Acid dyes are out."
The duo also sells scarves for women. "When we started retailing in India, we realised that women wanted friendly kurtis and sarees, so to lure the women folk to the exhibitions we got clothes for women, and threw in some home furnishings, which they loved. We always have exhibitions at art galleries and such places," explains Geetha.
