Wondering how to look even more beautiful than the bride at a wedding? Head to Parampara, and shop for some gorgeous zardozi saris
There are very few shops in the city today that still sell embroidered, traditional zardozi saris. So, we were pleasantly surprised when we stumbled upon the latest lifestyle store in the city, Parampara. Each piece at the shop has been personally hand-picked by the owners and you can browse through a wide range of casual kurtis, chania-cholis, saris, dress materials and stitched churidars as well as party-wear dresses.u00a0
Ambience: On the first floor of the three-storied shop, you will spot kurtis and salwar kameezes, while the second floor stocks dress materials and the third-floor displays saris. There are huge mattresses spread on the floors where customers can sit and haggle with the salesmen.
On display: The heavy zardozi saris which came in varied colours demanded our attention. The silk saris, which were less heavier, were eye-catching and more suited for a casual party-wear. The Chania Cholis were just about okay, and were available in the range of Rs 10,000 and above.
The party-wear included salwar kameezes and churidars, which were a tad costly but were graceful and beautifully-designed. The cotton dress materials were suitable for formal office wear or even as casual wear.
Check out the dress materials with broad borders and embroidered prints, which were available in different fabrics like cotton, chiffon and crepe. The kurtis were unimpressive and though they were available in a variety of fabric and design, we didn't find them too impressive.u00a0
