Twitterati have a 'busy' day taunting the foreign media and tennis sensation Maria Sharapova. And for what, you may ask. Well! While the incidents may have been separate, the brickbats were for the same reason -- the west not recognising Indian stars.
You take a jibe at Sachin Tendulkar, however innocuous it may be, his fans will never forget or let you forget. After reports of tennis star Maria Sharapova's failed dope tests surfaced, 'Who is Sachin Tendulkar' started trending for quite a long time on Thursday.
Most of the tweets mocked Sharapova reminding her of her ignorance about the cricket superstar back in 2014 and some even linking her downfall to her 'error'.
In a fresh incident that happened today, a dinner meet gained prominence after foreign media failed to recognise a Bollywood A-lister Deepika Padukone.
It so happened that tennis star Novak Djokovic and Deepika Padukone were spotted exiting together from a popular Los Angeles nightspot called 'The Nice Guy'.
However, a report in British website Daily Mail stated that Djokovic was spotted on Tuesday night with a 'female companion'. The report also described Padukone as a 'leggy brunette' who was 'impeccably turned out' for the alleged dinner date.
While the online news site received flak for 'not recognising' a Bollywood superstar, Twitter went abuzz with jokes.
