A 42-year-old woman and her son were charred to death while her husband was critically injured when a fire engulfed their house early this morning, fire brigade officials said.

The incident took place in Sultanpur Dabas at around 3:45 AM and fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the blaze. Fire fighters discovered two charred bodies which were later identified as those of Krishna and her son Deepak (12).u00a0
Krishna's husband Narain Singh suffered 90 per cent burn injuries and is undergoing treatment at the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash hospital here. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
