Police looking for management professional who forged husband's consent form for embryo transplant

A Management professional who was charged with forgery by the Deccan police for faking a husband's consent for embryo transplantation has now reportedly gone missing. The woman has also switched off her mobile phone. The Deccan police who had gone to arrest her came to know that she had left office without informing her colleagues. Her employers have now told the police that they will sack her.

Forged documents

A case was registered against the 30-year-old woman for submitting forged undersigned documents by Chandrakant Kunjir, an engineering professor, whom she mentioned as her husband. He was behind bars for allegedly harassing her.

Kunjir is reportedly already married and the woman was his former student. Both were reportedly living together for three years. The woman had earlier filed a complaint in early September at Loni Kalbhor police station against Kunjir for domestic violence. After the police arrested Kunjir a few days later, the woman submitted a fake consent form to facilitate embryo transplantation.

According to the Deccan police, this was a last-ditch attempt for pregnancy as she had undergone abortions twice before, once allegedly after harassment by Kunjir's family members (see box). Senior Police Inspector Manohar Joshi said when the woman failed to come to the police station yesterday, the police went looking for her at her residence and the place where she worked.

Offences
The lady has been booked under section 419 of IPCu00a0-- cheating by personating, 465u00a0-- forgery, 467-- forgery of valuable security, 471u00a0-- for using forged record as genuine, 34- common intention.

Medical history
The woman had undergone two abortions after successful IVF treatments allegedly after torture from Kunjir's family. She had also filed a complaint at Bharati Vidyapeeth police station against Kunjir's family members. Fed up with the reported harassments and the abortions, she then lodged a complaint with the Lonikalbhor police (where the two reportedly stayed together) against Kunjir under IPC 498.
