An 18-year-old woman was allegedly kidnapped by four unknown men on Friday from the Mangaldas road area.
The woman was beaten up in the car. The police complaint has no mention of molestation or rape.
u00a0The victim ufffddaughter of a businessman from Bopodi ufffdwas left at Khadki after four hours. She was spotted by the Khadki police, who informed the control room. Later, she was handed back to her parents.
u00a0The woman's father has filed a complaint in this regard and an FIR has been registered under sections 363 (kidnapping), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 34 (act done by several persons in furtherance of common intention). The Bund Garden police have prepared a sketch of the four suspects, and a hunt is on.
Father received texts
"The victim was accompanying a friend to get some photocopies at 4 pm. That's when a car came near them. On the pretext of address enquiry, the suspects called the victim closer. They forcefully pulled her in the car, covered her face with a scarf and tied her hands. The suspects were talking in Hindi,"u00a0 PSI MN Sanadi said.
"She driven around for more than four hours and left at the Mariaai gate area of Khadki at around 8.30 pm. Her father received eight messages on his mobile from his daughter's phone. One of the messages asked her father to come near a school at 8.30 pm. But later, at around 10.53 pm, he got a call from the Khadki police station saying that his daughter was safe and standing at the Mariaai Gate area."u00a0

According to a source, the girl was reportedly asked to drink some liquid while she was in the car. "Some family members say that the incident may be a fallout of a past rivalry. They have a court case pending," said a police
official.
