The fight against attacks on women has again spread and an online petition is filed.

The fight against attacks on women has again spread and an online petition is filed. The attack on women in Bangalore came to light only when emails were circulated. An online petition will further strengthen this.

Ratna who posted this petition said that she had done so to garner support and let the government and police know that women have a problem. "The petition is basically to garner support and solidarity on this issue, so that the government and police know how many people have a problem with the issue of safety in Bangalore.

We hope they do something about it instead of denying the fact that the attacks have been happening. They should accept that there does exist a threat to safety," she told MiD DAY.

The petition claims that more than 80 attacks and cases of moral policing have been reported from all over Karnataka in the last six months.u00a0 "Two women have committed suicide after humiliation from right-wing forces.

On Feb 12, Vanita killed herself after Bajrang Dal activists attacked her. On Feb 11, Ashwini killed herself after Venur Bajrang activists attacked her and her friend Salim," it says. It also focuses on some attacks that took place in Bangalore.

The petition alleges that Bangalore Police Commissioner said that the attacks had not taken place. "Onu00a0 March 2 when a group of concerned citizens protested outside Police Commission Shankar Bidari's office, urging him to take action to make the city safer for women, he blatantly denied the fact that these attacks have been taking place and said Bangalore is one of the safest cities for women and that there was no law and order problem," it says.

The petition calls the incidents, a part of a series of attacks inflicted on women in the name of 'morality,' and demands action from the government.
