This exhibition titled Life? Or Theatre? will show paintings by German artist Charlotte Salomon. The paintings chronicle the life and philosophy of the artiste, who lived in France post World War II. In 1917, Charlotte Salomon was born in Berlin in a Jewish family as the daughter of a surgeon and a singer.

However, events of 1933 changed the course of her life and she took refuge in her grandparents' house in Southern France. In 1943, she was arrested and deported to Auschwitz, where she was murdered. While in exile, Salomon expressed herself through paintings that resemble a lyrical drama. Before her death, she had given her complete works to a friend. On display will be 62 gouaches (an art technique that mixes water colour with gum) with comments on her life and work.
