A 31-year-old carpenter hid under a cot for over six hours before killing his wife's paramour in Bengaluru's Byadarahalli.
The accused, identified as Bharath Kumar, has been arrested.
Bharath had married Vinutha eight years ago and has two children. The victim, Shivaraj, was Vinutha's friend.
Recently, Shivaraj professed his love for Vinutha. She turned him down but later agreed. When Bharath came to know about the extra-marital affair he objected to it, stated a report in India Today.

On Wednesday, Bharath entered Vinutha's house at 9 pm and hid under the cot. It was around 10.30 pm Shivaraj came to her place and they went to sleep after dinner. When Vinutha went to the washroom at 3 pm, Bharath locked her outside and stabbed Shivaraj to death.
Police said Bharath would be produced before the court on Friday and sent to judicial custody. "The accused has confessed to the murder and his medical test is being done," a police officer said.
