In a shocking incident in Maharashtra's Nagpur, a man claiming to be an activist climbed atop a mobile phone tower to highlight his demands for development of his native Kamptee town in Nagpur district and seek launch of various projects, police said on Tuesday, reported the PTI.
The police said that the man ended his protest after four hours.
According to the news agency, a police official said that the man identified as Umesh Bhokre, an activist of the Kamtee Nagar Vikas Kruti Samiti, climbed atop the mobile tower opposite Orange City park near here at around 4 pm on Monday.
When local residents sought to know the reason for his protest, Bhokre threw down a bunch of pamphlets which listed his demands related to Kamptee town.

Shanthakumar and other leaders of the 'Karnataka Jala Samrakshana Samiti were detained by the police at the Mysuru Bank circle, as they were trying to hold a protest march towards Town Hall.
Several activists of Kannada organisations were also whisked away by the police at Town Hall, as they gathered there to stage a protest.
