The Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC) on Wednesday decided to stop the COVID-19 vaccination drive due to shortage of vaccines. The PMC will provide only second dose of the vaccine as of now, stated a notification released by the civic body.
As per a PMC official, the civic body has used up all the stock of Covishield and thus, they cannot continue the drive. However, they have stock of Covaxin which will be used for the second dose.
The PMC is in the third phase of vaccination and has vaccinated around 60,000 people till now. It has 7 state or corporation-run and 12 private-run vaccination centres.
