Police in Sitapur district of Uttar Pradesh have arrested three people for beating their neighbours to death with iron rods and sticks. Cops on Sunday said that they are looking of two other accused.
Abbas and his wife Kamrul Nisha were murdered allegedly by Shailendra Jaiswal, Pallu and Amarnath in Rajeypur village on Friday. The couple had died on the spot, cops said.
Superintendent of Police Chakresh Mishra said Abbas's son Shaukat had eloped with the daughter of one of the accused in 2020. A case had been registered, as the girl was a minor at the time, and Shaukat was sent to jail, said cops.
He was released from jail a few days ago, and the accused planned the attack, police said. According to the villagers, the girl's father has been identified as Shaukat Rampal, they added.
