Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Thursday hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and accused him of tarnishing democracy by not speaking in Parliament and instead making political speeches outside.
"Today, people have become aware and they will fight and continue to do so... This means you do not want to talk in Parliament - the temple of democracy, and want to give a political speech in Rajasthan while opening new medical colleges," he told reporters outside Parliament.
Modi on Thursday addressed a public rally in Sikar, ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections in Rajasthan. Modi took a dig at the opposition, particularly the Congress, saying the slogan âIndira is India and India is Indira' during the era of former PM Indira Gandhi has now changed to âUPA is India and India is UPA'.
Later, he inaugurated an international airport near Rajkot city in Gujarat.
