The Kerala Assembly is likely to pass a joint resolution in the ongoing session expressing solidarity with the people of Lakshadweep where the recent actions of the islands' administrator have drawn flak.
M B Rajesh, the newly elected Speaker of the state Assembly, on Thursday said Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan himself has proposed the resolution in the wake of recent developments in the archipelago.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin, MDMK chief and Rajya Sabha MP Vaiko and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday to recall Lakshadweep administrator Praful Khoda Patel for imposing âanti-people' laws in the union territory.
The action of administrator Patel in forcibly bringing in "anti-people" regulations to "alienate Muslims" living there is causing anguish, Stalin tweeted.
