On Tuesday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will connect with a variety of organisations, including students and civil society members, as part of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra. The Yatra, which entered Meghalaya on Monday, will return to Assam for the last stage, passing through the outskirts of Guwahati, the state's main metropolis.
According to the party's agenda, Rahul Gandhi would meet with the North East Congress Committee at a hotel in Jorabat, Meghalaya's Ri Bhoi district. Following that, he would have separate discussions with students and civil society representatives in Guwahati. As the Yatra travels down the national highway that bypasses the main city, a public address will be given, PTI reported.
According to the report, the party stated that the police denied them permission to do a roadshow or 'padyatra' (foot march) in the main metropolis. During the Yatra's lunch break, Rahul Gandhi will conduct a press conference in Damdama, Kamrup district, around 75 kilometres from Guwahati.
A 'padyatra' is planned from the Goremari petrol pump in the Barpeta district to Kukarpar, followed by a public address. The night stop is scheduled for Bishnupur. The Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, which began in Manipur on January 14, is slated to end in Mumbai on March 20 or 21.

Congress' yatra entered Meghalaya late afternoon on Monday from Assam's Morigaon district. According to the reports, Gandhi and the entourage had embarked on the march in Nongpoh, the headquarters town of Ri Bhoi district shortly after entering Meghalaya. He was scheduled to attend a public gathering hosted by the state Congress committee in Nongop before spending the night in Byrnihat.
Meanwhile, security in the Khanapara Area, the entry point to Guwahati, was beefed up as Rahul Gandhi's yatra is set to return to the state to kick off the last leg of their schedule. The area witnessed heavy security measures, including barricading and substantial deployment of police officials, ANI reported.
Gandhi scion is scheduled to address the Congress cadre in Assam later in the day. At 1:20 pm, a press conference by the Congress is planned before the Yatra continues, making a halt at Bishnupur in Assam, the report stated.
