As the country celebrates 74th Republic Day today on January 26, the grand parade will be held in Delhi at the Kartavya Path. Kartavya Path was earlier known as Rajpath and it is for the first time the grand celebrations will be held at the revamped place.

The President of Egypt Abdel Fattah El-Sisi is the Chief Guest this year.

For the first time, bands and contingents of the Egyptian Armed Forces, 144 soldiers, will take part in the parade.

The theme of this year's Republic Day is ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' and President Droupadi Murmu will lead the celebrations. The grand parade will begin at 10.30 am.

As many as 150 high resolution CCTV cameras have been deployed at the Kartavya Path besides a huge contingent of 6000 armed forces personnel as part of the security arrangements.

The crowds favorite, the Dare Devils squad of the Corps of Signals will showcase its motorbike display. This will feature eleven kids who were awarded the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar for excellent performance in the categories of bravery, art and culture, sports, innovation, and social service.

The highly anticipated, flypast, will feature aircraft from the three forces. The final Vertical Charlie manoeuvre will be performed by the new Rafale fighter aircraft. Rafale had participated in the parade the previous two years, but this will be the first time nine aircraft, or a fourth of the fleet, would take part in the flypast.
