Indian army personnel look on during a search operation in Reasi
Massive search operations continued on Thursday in forest belts of different districts to track down and neutralise terrorists involved in recent attacks in the union territory, officials said. Police joined the paramilitary forces in searches in the Narwal bypass area on the outskirts of Jammu after a woman reported suspicious movement of two persons.
Terrorists struck at four places in Reasi, Kathua and Doda districts over the past four days, killing nine pilgrims and a CRPF jawan and leaving seven security personnel and others injured. Two suspected Pakistani terrorists were also killed in an encounter in Kathua and a large quantity of arms and ammunition were recovered from them.
India rejects China-Pakistan Kashmir claims
India categorically rejected "unwarranted" references to Jammu and Kashmir in a latest joint statement by China and Pakistan and asserted that the Union territory and Ladakh have been, are and will always remain its integral parts. The joint statement was issued in Beijing on June 7 following talks between Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chinese Premier Li Qiang.
