West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee while addressing a public meeting in Purulia on Monday said that TMC government will deliver free ration to the people of West Bengal at their doorsteps if voted to power.

"TMC government will remain in power, you will continue to get free ration. We will deliver ration to your doorstep. You don't have to come to the shop after May," said Banerjee.

"My government has taken the decision in the budget to give Rs 1,000 to all the widows," she said adding that a pension of R2,000 was also provided in the Budget for tribals aged above 60 years. "This is the only state that has not snatched the land rights of tribals," she said.

BJP's poll promises
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Monday said the BJP will launch road projects worth Rs 1 lakh crore in the state if voted to power. He added that it could be done now itself but there are obstacles. "Had we got land acquisition and forest environment clearance, we could have done it today too. We are ready but unfortunately, we face obstacles. If there is the same party at both levels, we will change the face of Bengal."

‘Mamata hid info on criminal cases'
Suvendu Adhikari, the BJP candidate against Mamata Banerjee in Nandigram, on Monday said he has sought rejection of the nomination of the CM for not declaring six criminal cases against her while filing her papers. In his complaint to the Election Commission claimed she suppressed the information about five cases filed against her in Assam and another lodged by the CBI in West Bengal.
