Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday said that he has tested positive for COVID-19 and is in self-isolation.
He had on Tuesday isolated himself after some officials in his contact tested positive for coronavirus.
In a tweet in Hindi, he said, ""After initial symptoms, I got myself tested. My report is positive. I am in self-isolation and following doctors advice. I am doing all the works virtually."
He added, "All activities of the state government are being conducted normally. Meanwhile, all those who have come in contact with me must get their test done and take precaution."

Earlier in the day, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and Uttar Pradesh minister Ashutosh Tandon had tested positive for COVID-19.
On Wednesday, Yadav said, "My corona test report has come positive. I have isolated myself and started treatment at home itself. People who have come in contact with me in the past few days should get themselves tested. They are requested to stay in isolation for some days."
Yadav had recently visited Haridwar where the Kumbh Mela is underway and met various religious leaders, including Akhara Parishad chairman Mahant Narendra Giri who had tested positive for COVID-19 earlier. On reaching Lucknow, Yadav got himself tested on Tuesday.
Uttar Pradesh Urban Development Minister Tandon tweeted, "After observing initial symptoms of corona, I got myself tested, and the report has come positive. On the advice of doctors, I have isolated myself at home. People who have come in contact with me in the past few days should get themselves tested."
On Tuesday, Uttar Pradesh reported the highest-ever single-day spike of 18,021 coronavirus cases and 85 deaths. With this, the state's infection tally stands at 7,23,582 and the death toll at 9,309.
The state's previous biggest jump of 15,353 cases was recorded on April 11.
