A woman, reportedly shooting a video on railway tracks in Haridwar died after being hit by a train, the police said on Thursday reported the PTI.
She was hit by a train while shooting a video along the tracks at Roorkee in Haridwar, the police said.
The woman was identified as a 20-year-old, engineering student, the police said.
According to the PTI, Gangnahar Kotwali police station SHO Govind Ram said that the incident occurred Wednesday evening when the victim, Vaishali was standing on the track near the Rahimpur railway gate with a friend.

Vaishali was shooting a video with her mobile to be posted on social media when she was hit by a train. She died on the spot, the SHO said, as per the PTI.
Following this, the victim's friend informed the Vaishali's family who then approached the police, he added.
Vaishali was a resident of the Haripur Tongia Buggawala area of Haridwar district and was studying in the College of Engineering, Roorkee (COER).
Mumbai local train derails near CSMT
Meanwhile, in an another incident in Mumbai, a local train derailed on the harbour line of the Central Railway at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) in Mumbai on Wednesday afternoon, an official said.
Central Railway chief spokesperson Dr Swapnil Nila, on Wednesday said, "Two wheels of an empty rake while doing trial after attending the defective spot got derailed near CSMT. Local trains between CSMT and Wadala Road are affected. Inconvenience is deeply regretted."
The trolley of the coach derailed when the train was entering CSMT. No one was injured in the incident, the officials said.
Hours after the train was derailed, it was on Wednesday evening Re-railed at around 6:40 pm, the officials said.
They said that two wheels of an empty rake while doing trial after attending the defective spot got derailed near CSMT. The Harbour line locals were run from Platform No. 03. The derailed coach of the empty rake was Re-railed at around 18.25 hrs. The empty rake arrived at the Platform No. 2 at 18.40 hrs.
The incident comes days after another Mumbai local train had derailed near CSMT station.
