Alert cops, train driver save elderly man's life at Mumbai Central:

On July 6, 2019, brave officers of the Maharashtra Security Force (MSF) saved the life of a senior citizen who attempted to commit suicide at Mumbai Central station. The senior citizen, identified as Waman Govind Kamble, 64, a resident of Sion, tried to commit suicide by lying down in front of the fast approaching Virar fast local train. Upon seeing the elderly man taking the drastic step, the two officers identified as Manoj Ashok Ghodke and Ravindra R Vise acted promptly and saved the senior citizen by jumping on the track while the train was just a few metres away. Besides the two officers, alert motorman of the train, Laxman Singh Meena and guard Yogendra Prasad immediately applied emergency brakes and halted the train in time to save the 68-year-old man's life. The entire incident was recorded on the CCTV cameras installed at the Mumbai Central railway station.

Unsung hero saves a teen who made headlines for almost falling off the train:

On October 4, 2018, the Central Railway's Railway Protection Force (RPF) booked a girl who made headlines after being miraculously saved from falling off the local train. The video of the incident had become viral on social media. The video shows the daring rescue act by alert commuters after the girl slips and dangerously dangles out of the moving train. The girl in the video was identified by the RPF as a 17-year-old resident of Diva. The teenager is seen falling momentarily from the train before being pulled up by fellow passengers in the incident that occurred between Ghatkopar and Vikhroli stations. Istakhar Ahmad, 52, a resident of Govandi who works at a furniture shop in Chembur was alert and quickly responded by saving the girl's life within seconds.

RPF staff saves a woman from falling on the railway tracks:

On September 11, 2018, a usual day for an on-duty RPF staff at the Mumbai Central railway station, turned it into an extraordinary one when he saved a woman's life. The incident took place when the woman, Rojee, was trying to board the Gujrat Mail on the Mumbai Central railway station. The woman was in a hurry to board the ladies compartment when she suddenly slipped. Right then an alert RPF staff named Ashok Kumar Yadav, saved the woman. Apparently, the woman was carrying heavy luggage due to which she lost her balance and fell down in between the gaps of the train. The woman was indeed given a new lease of life by the brave act and alertness of the RPF staff.

Man falls off Mumbai local train, alert cops save his life:

On the evening of August 18, 2018, around 7:15 PM a young man had a miraculous escape after he fell from a speeding local train at Dadar station. As the train was entering Dadar Railway station, 21-year-old Hamid Jeval, a resident of Bangladesh tried to alight on the platform from the running train but in the opposite direction. As a result, he lost his balance and fell on the platform and perilously close to the train. However, alert Government Railway Police officials, who were on duty at the platform pulled Jeval away from the train in the nick of time and saved his life. Jeval sustained injuries on his head and face was taken to Sion hospital by the railway cops where he was undergoing treatment. The entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras.

Man lies on a railway track in a suicide attempt, commuters save him:

On July 30, 2018, a 54-year-old man on attempted to commit suicide at Mumbai's Kurla railway station. The incident took place at around 1:30 pm when the man suddenly jumped off and lied on the railway track. The man was saved by Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel and other co-passengers. The man said that that he was fed up with family issues which is why he attempted to commit suicide. Later on, the man was handed over to his family after police verification.

Brave RPF cop saves minor girls after they fall from a train:

On June 19, 2018, RPF Dadar Constable Babusha Ingole, who was on passenger luggage theft duty, was taking rounds on Dadar railway station platform 4 along with MSF Rahul Jadhav when a Karjat fast local arrived at the station. After its scheduled halt, the train started to move and a woman, Gayatri Satankar, lost her grip and fell from the ladies compartment located in the middle of the train. The RPF constable showed presence of mind and jumped to prevent the passenger from getting dragged under the train. He was assisted by MSF staff as well. On seeing the commotion, the other two passengers accompanying her, Rohan and Poornima, panicked and jumped off the train as well. The two were pulled to safety by Lady officer Vinita Shukla and constable Kiran Joy who were also present at the station.

RPF rescue woman who fell from train, reunite her with her children in 9 minutes:

On May 23, 2018, a woman identified as Nigah Anwar Dhamaskar, lost her balance while boarding a local train from platform number 1. The Bandra resident, who was on her way to Nahur, got dragged on the platform as the train began moving, but was pulled out just in time by a passenger and Urmila Sharma, head constable, who were at the platform. Dhamaskar was later brought to the RPF office. In the meantime, Kumar called Suresh Singh, head RPF constable on duty at Vidyavihar station, to receive Dhamaskar's children from the arriving train. The train reached Vidyavihar and Singh did what he was told. The entire operation was completed in nine minutes. Upon seeing the kids, Dhamaskar broke down and hugged them.

Alert TC saves passengers life, as he tries to board a running train:

On September 8, 2017, the presence of mind showed by a ticket checker at Kalyan station saved helped to save a man’s life. The man was trying to jump on to a train when his hand slipped and he was about to fall within the gap. CCTV footage captured at Kalyan station showed the man trying to board the moving Sultanpur-LTT train. On seeing the man slipping, an alert ticket collector, Kumar, caught and dragged him on to the platform. Quick action by Kumar saved the commuter’s life.

Railway cop saves 3 lives in 6 months at Kurla station:

On July 15, 2017, constable Pradipkumar Gite was posted on Passenger Luggage Theft (PLT) duty at Kurla station when he saved a BEST bus conductor from falling in the gap between a train and the platform. The bus conductor was identified Sanjay Kolte, who was in a hurry to catch a train when his leg slipped from the footboard. Sanjay was dragged alongside the train on the platform and was about to be pulled in the gap between the train and platform when an alert Pradipkumar pulled the bus conductor away and saved his life.

RPF cops save commuter from being crushed by Mumbai local train:

0n April 12, 2017, two railway protection force (RPF) officials rescued a commuter while he was trying to board a moving train at Parel station. 30-year-old Vinod Laxman Chandanshive who tried to board the running train slipped and almost went under the footboard. However, he was saved by two RPF constables who dragged him out of the train-platform gap immediately. As per reports, Laxman was carrying some food with him for his children. The packet tore and contents spilled on to the platform, which caused him to slip. The resident of Dombivli suffered minor injuries and was treated by the RPF at Dadar station.

On April 11, 2017, Seema Muralidhar Kale and her sister were leaving back home to Solapur after some physical tests when they met with an accident. The duo tried to board the Chennai Express from Dadar’s platform number 5. When Seema noticed that her sister could not board the train, she panicked and jumped off. Fortunately for her, few RPF officials quickly pulled her away and stopped her from falling between the gap of the platform and train. Seema sustained minor injuries on her knees and was shocked by the incident.

Husband pushes his wife from running train, RPF constable saves a life:

On February 25, 2017, Turbhe Railway protection force arrested an accused who pushed his wife from a running train. The incident took place one kilometre away from Ghansoli station when the train was heading towards Thane. A heated argument took place between Abdul and his wife Sunita Rokde as they reached the footboard of the local train when Abdul suddenly pushed her out. Radheshyam Gurjar, RPF constable rushed to the spot after he received a wireless message. With the help of farmers and commuters, the constable put the lady on a local train and took her to Rabale station. From there he took her to a hospital in Vashi by an autorickshaw, where the doctor treated her.

CR official's daring act saves girl's life at Lonavala station:

On February 12, 2017, a girl's life was saved at Lonavla station premises. The incident was captured on CCTV cameras as well. The girl, identified as K Ansari from Pune, studying in the First Year of BBA, decided to alight from a moving train at Lonavala station when in a matter of seconds both her legs slipped and she was hanging by the pole of the train and losing grip. Immediately, 57-year-old Nigam jumped to save this girl, whose leg was already in between the train and platform. Soon after, other rail officials present on the platform jumped and pulled out the young girl.

Heroic cop saves a five-year-old boy from an onrushing train:

On December 20, 2015, a constable attached with the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) saved the life of a five-year-old boy from an incoming train at Thane district. The dramatic rescue that took place was captured on a surveillance camera at Ambernath station in Thane. The CCTV footage shows the boy on the tracks while a train was approaching the station. Suddenly, commuters spot the boy and immediately raised an alarm. A constable there immediately leaned forward and pulled the boy back up in time.

Alert RPF constables' quick thinking saves commuter's life:

On December 2, 2015, constable Chandrakant Rupde, attached to the RPF unit, Karjat was patrolling platform no 1 when a CST-Nagercoil express arrived on the platform. After its scheduled halt, the train departed. Panda, who was travelling in coach no B-1, was seen loitering on the platform, as per CCTV camera footage. While the train began moving, Panda made an attempt to board when his leg slipped and was dragged by the train, which now was slowly gaining momentum. Panda was holding the handle of the door tightly, but could not lift himself up as he was stuck between the platform and the gap. Constable Rupde, who was nearby, reacted swiftly and pulled Panda up thereby saving his life.
