Prajwal Revanna, a suspended JD(S) MP, was arrested by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) upon his arrival at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru.

Prajwal Revanna, aged 33, landed in Bengaluru early on Friday and was immediately taken into custody by the SIT. His arrest was preempted by an arrest warrant, leading to his immediate transfer to the CID office for questioning.

The SIT plans to present Prajwal before the Special Court, seeking police custody to facilitate further interrogation. This step is crucial for the SIT to gather more evidence and insights regarding the allegations against him.

Security was heightened at the Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital in anticipation of Prajwal's medical evaluations. These tests include assessments of his blood pressure, blood sugar levels, and cardiac health. The SIT may also conduct a potency test to determine his ability to commit the alleged sexual assaults.

The Special Court for Public Representatives will hear Prajwal's bail plea along with his mother Bhavani Revanna's anticipatory bail plea. While Bhavani is not directly accused in the sexual abuse cases, the SIT wishes to investigate her involvement in an alleged kidnapping case.

State Home Minister G Parameshwara confirmed Prajwal's arrest and highlighted the legal procedures that would follow. Prajwal attempted to avoid arrest by seeking bail from the court, but his request was denied, leading to his detention upon arrival from Germany.

In addition to Prajwal's charges, his father, H D Revanna, an MLA and son of former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda, was previously arrested and released on bail for allegedly sexually harassing their house cook. This cook is also one of Prajwal's victims.

Prajwal left for Germany on April 27, just after the Lok Sabha elections in Hassan. An Interpol Blue Corner Notice was issued to locate him, following a request from the SIT via the CBI. The allegations against him have triggered a political storm, with both Congress and BJP-JD(S) demanding thorough investigations.

The allegations surfaced through the circulation of pen drives containing explicit videos of Prajwal, which were distributed in Hassan just before the Lok Sabha polls. The scandal has led to heated debates, with JD(S) suspending Prajwal from the party and prominent figures like Deve Gowda and H D Kumaraswamy urging him to face the probe and accept any legal consequences if found guilty.
