Jhatka Meat Statement: BJP and Congress at loggerheads over Giriraj Singh's appeals to Hindus

Union Rural Development Minister Giriraj Singh on December 11 appealed to Hindu brothers to consume Jhatka meat and stop the consumption of halal meat. Speaking to ANI, he said, “I have said that I respect my Muslim brothers. They are so committed to their religion that they only consume halal meat. To protect and respect your religion, I request my Hindu brothers to stop consuming halal meat and instead only consume jhatka meat.” While speaking over Union Minister Giriraj Singh`s Jhatka Meat statement, Congress leader Udit Raj said that they just do Hindu-Muslim for vote bank and the Constitution gives freedom to eat and dress so people shouldn’t be listening to such advice.
