Connecticut: The village of Johnsonville, set along the Moodus River in East Haddam, Connecticut, has a new owner, whose identity is still unknown. The property in question is the village of Johnsonville set along the Moodus River in East Haddam, Connecticut. The 62-acre piece of land was established in the 1830s and had been abandoned for the past 16 years. The village sale took place on Auction.com and the starting bid was $8,00,000. The buyer will get, in addition to the Victorian and colonial-style homes, a restaurant, a general store, a one-room schoolhouse, and a chapel.

In the 1960s, millionaire Ray Schmitt bought Johnsonville and tried turning it into a tourist attraction, but the idea failed. After his death in 1998, Johnsonville turned into a ghost town.
