Woman and kids strip off and pray outside school

A woman and her three children in US were arrested by police when they chanted prayers outside a school after stripping off their clothes

According to police, Sara Butler, 43, and her children Joanne, 23, Bessie, 22, and a 14-year-old boy disrobed themselves on Friday outside Upper Darby High School near Philadelphia.u00a0

Authorities said that the bizarre incident began when Butler showed up at the school about 10 am demanding to see a student.

"Because she has no parental rights, school officials would not release the child and said she couldn't take the child out of school," the New York Daily News quoted police superintendent Michael Chitwood as telling the Delaware County Daily Times.

After school officials refused to allow the woman into the building, she and her children left, only to return later, shed their clothing and start praying before climbing into a van.

The adult family members will be charged with disorderly conduct, open lewdness and defiant trespass, The Philadelphia Inquirer revealed.

The mother also faces charges of corrupting a minor.
