Hollywood blockbuster and cult film 'Fight Club' starring- Brad Pitt and Edward Norton has got a new ending in China. Yes, you have read it right! In the original version, which released in 1999, the movie had Norton's character killing his imaginary alter-ego Tyler Durden (Pitt). Norton then destroys multiple buildings to destroy consumersim by erasing debt records.

However, the Chinese version shows that authorities won and all criminals were arrested. The Chinese version ends just before the explosions and a message says the police sent Pitt's character Durden to a "lunatic asylum".

As per CNN, it's not unusual for foreign films to be heavily censored before finding a legitimate home in China. Chinese companies also self-regulate and self-censor overseas films so that they don't offend the authorities.

On the other hand, social media is going berserk with the alternate ending. Chuck Palahniuk, the author of the 1996 novel of the same name on which the movie is based made a rather sarcastic comment on Twitter. He wrote, "This is SUPER wonderful! Everyone gets a happy ending in China! (sic)."
