After the unofficial Commonwealth Games song, I am now working on a song on child labour. We are constantly fed statistics of our country's growth, but the fact remains that a large section of India is still poor, and that there are still many kids out there not getting a decent education.
This illiteracy is the root cause of many other issues, and it's about time we address it. Where is the development we keep harping about? The gap between the rich and the poor is only increasing. Hip Hop as a form of musical expression was born out of subjugation, and serves as a perfect tool for social commentary.
You can rap about irrelevant stuff as well, of course, but certain stories need to be told the way they are.
