Some of the survivors of the 26/11 tragedy at the Hotel Oberoi-Trident said that in the beginning they had thought that the loud explosions caused by grenades hurled by terrorists were firecrackers. Not much heed was paid to these explosions and this gave the terrorists time to carry further damage.
We, living in south Mumbai, get unnerved by the sound of firecrackers today. This makes it more difficult for us to eraseu00a0 memories of the audacious attacks.u00a0
Firecrackers should be banned as they create unnecessary panic among south Mumbai residents, who are still struggling to cope up with the tragedy.
