US CALLING: P Chidambaram
Home Minister's trip to the US will yield no results
Home Minister P Chidambaram is going to visit the US this weekend to provide evidence about Pakistan's involvement in the 26/11 terror attacks. But, within a fortnight the government in the US is going to change. Barack Obama, a Democrat, is going to preside over the country and a change in policies is on the cards.
Is this trip going to produce any results? A visit to the US will be nothing but a waste of time and national resources.
Moreover, is the US going to aid us in this war against terror? We have already provided sufficient evidence to the US and Pakistan. While the US has not taken any concrete measures, Pakistan has just turned a deaf ear to India.
The government in Pakistan is being diplomatic and playing its cards well. Our leadership, on the other hand, has been weak. The situation can be brought under control only if our politicians, especially the prime Minister, apply their minds to tackle our unruly neighbours.

It's widely known that the Pakistan government is ineffective. The real power lies with the army and the ISI. So, talks with the president or the prime minister of Pakistan are fruitless. India should establish talks with the ISI chief, instead of depending on the US as Uncle Sam may not be able to help us out. We need to stand up for ourselves.
Speeches are mere rhetoric and trips to other nations are futile. India is not doing enough to retaliate against the 26/11 attacks.
